Clo vs. Elsie — Milk Delivery in Marin with Featured Speaker Mike Moyle

Join us to learn about the evolution of the retail milk business in Marin, including the home delivery system that many of us remember nostalgically from our youth. This business started with small dairies bringing fresh milk in cans to homes in their immediate neighborhoods and ladling it into various household containers, to the development of individual milk bottles, the improvement of sanitary standards, and the expansion and consolidation of the industry. Former lawyer turned dairy researcher, Mike Moyle, will discuss this history, and also update us on the project he is working on with local historian Dewey Livingston to identify every dairy that ever operated in Marin County. So far they have found more than 340.

$10 suggested donation. Free entry for Elks with ID card.

Note: Free Parking at the back of the building, enter the mansion through the main front doors. Venue is to the right of the main lobby and staircase.

FREE to Elk Members, $10 for adults.
