The first Sunday in December marks the day we pay our respects to Elks before us.
When we initiate new members, we offer a "Toast to our Absent Members," promising new members "we will never forget them." Fulfillment of promise is key to an Elks existence.
There are other days on the calendar when we remember Veterans and those who died for our country.
This date is saved for our predecessors, without whom we would have neither Lodge, nor Brotherhood, nor all we share as Elks. As Officers, Trustees and loyal members, coming together on this day during the holiday season confirms our dedication to the continuity of Thought, Word and Deed.
