Youth Poetry Slam

1st - 8th graders will be practicing their own original poems.
They are from local San Rafael Elementary and Middle Schools.
The big Slam competition will take place in mid-March, so this is a chance for them to get comfortable in front of a crowd, practice with a microphone, and express their thoughts and creative poems.
San Rafael Elks are sponsoring this academic, athletic and leadership program for kids in our community. They do after school enrichment, then play soccer on Fridays. This spring semester they are working on a leadership project.
